The trash options in this city will cause more heartache
letter to the editor
To the Editor:

Unfortunately, our leaders continue to push options that two of which will cost the residents more money and heartache. Status quo is the only way to go. These are the prices being thrown out – $49, $61 and $55 – with the last two charges including residents doing the work of the contractor and dragging bins to the curb at an increased charge. Some must be forgetting our winters are six months long including the weird falls and springs.

The last article in the Brunswick news indicated even the law director wouldn't put this before the public. Did anyone take note of the paragraph the North Royalton residents were angry and expressed disapproval of the carts that their officials chose to issue recycling carts only? (Yes, many were seniors.) Come on gang, please go status quo!

Regarding my last letter of objecting to the bins, I like to make note to the person who countered and responded by thinking a few cans and bottles from Brunswick will save the world for our children. Perhaps we should be more worried if they will be able to walk the city streets after dark (give that city to the north a try) and not during or after a ball game. Maybe worry a little about a few Jihadist's lurking at the local mall. The real world is going, if not already is, a tough place to play in.

To Councilman Nick, the county is already suggesting to CPF to consider investing in better sorting equipment and its doubtful that if there is a savings, they will feed it back to the public. It's called "profit." When automation takes over it means just less employees; less injuries are a given. If the city really wants to help keep the city clean, suggest using trash bags.
