STRONGSVILLE – Ask any woman and she’s bound to tell you she loves looking like she could walk the runway without paying the designer price tag.

Time is precious balancing the demands of work, family and social commitments, so to be able to find quality clothing and accessories at a fraction of the price all under one roof is like hitting the jackpot.

For years, Clothes Mentor, located at 15143 Pearl Road in Strongsville, has dedicated itself to being a one-stop shop for women of all ages and sizes featuring gently-used, resale designer clothing at a price that’s just as gentle on the wallet – roughly 70 percent or more off retail.

What’s even better is shoppers can score extra cash selling their in-style items that are just sitting in the closet, typically earning about 30-40 percent of what the store will sell it for.

These are gently-used clothes that are fairly new, having been purchased in the past year or two.

But more than simply a store, it is a sanctuary, a place where women can break away and meet together at several social events, celebrating them in a festive atmosphere such as the store’s Girls Night Out twice a year and its Shop Therapy Party.

Owner Randi Zeid and Manager Angie Quinones say they are hooked and won’t shop anywhere else.

“Whether you are going back to school in college or in the classroom, you can find affordable, in-style looks to ft your personality and unique style,” Zeid said.

“I love it as a place to buy and to work. You can always find the perfect outfit at a great value,” Quinones added. “We are a great team, and our customers are like family.”

Speaking of back to school, Aug. 4-6 is Ohio’s tax-free weekend, where clothing priced at $75 or less per item is tax free, which amounts to a savings of 8 percent.

“And we’re matching the county rate and giving customers an additional 8 percent off,” Zeid said.

Clothes Mentor stocks stylish clothing from stores like Ann Taylor, The Limited, Lane Bryant, The North Face, Lululemon and Chicos.

No matter the weather, racks are lined year round with pants, jeans, tops, shorts, jackets, sweaters, dresses, suits, skirts, coats, shoes, boots, jewelry, designer handbags, scarves, belts, hats and sunglasses.

There’s even a nice selection of athletic wear, medical scrubs and maternity clothing.

The store is truly geared toward every age, every size.

“One of the things that I love is being able to see whole families shop together because we have clothing and accessories for grandmothers, mothers and daughters. Regardless of size, the family can shop together and bond,” Zeid said.

Their designer clutches and handbags are one thing that sets the store apart with high-end brands such as Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Gucci, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley, B Makowsky and more.

It’s the perfect store for women who are pressed for time and don’t have the ability to shop several locations, for the teacher updating her closet with back-to-school wear, for the woman who is getting in shape and between sizes.

For those who stress about shopping or struggle to put an outfit together, the store also has a free personal shopping program.

Once registered through the website, the store calls with outfits to try on.

“We love the personal shopping program because it helps our customer save time and have the opportunity to try on looks within their comfort zone and outside of it. It allows us to help our customers look great,” Zeid said.

The staff is always friendly and willing to help put together an outfit in a jiffy or lend some fashion advice too.

“We have been serving the city of Strongsville and surrounding area for five years now. We’ve gotten to know what a great strong community this is and we are proud to be a part of it,” Zeid said. “We look forward to continue meeting more of the Strongsville, North Royalton and Brunswick women in the years to come.”
