Cheating girlfriend drives man to punch out windows
North Royalton Police
July 9 – A woman reported her “on again, off again” boyfriend allegedly punched out three of her car windows near her Hampton Club Drive residence after he noticed another man in her apartment around 9 a.m. The male said he got angry after he saw his girlfriend naked and the man putting on pants, which led him to go outside and break the windows. He was cited for disorderly conduct and medics cleaned up his bloodied arms.

July 9 – Someone threw a brick through the window of a vehicle parked on Mercury Drive around 1 a.m. The suspect allegedly ran off.

July 9 – A caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver on Ridge Road that hit a cone and the curb several times around 2:20 a.m. The vehicle was located and stopped on Glenmont Drive at Royalton Road. The driver, Maryellen Cotrau, reportedly started looking at Facebook on her phone while the officer was asking for insurance information. She was arrested for OVI and cited for left of center, driving on curbs and violation of license restrictions (corrective lenses).

July 7 – Someone struck the front main window of a Parkdale Drive residence possibly with a BB gun, leaving a small hole in the window within the last week.

July 7 – A vehicle was stopped for speeding in a Royalton Road parking lot at 1:57 a.m. The driver, Fred Mullins III, of Medina, allegedly had bloodshot eyes and the vehicle smelled of marijuana. A baggie of marijuana was allegedly found underneath the front passenger seat. Mullins was cited for speed and drug abuse.

July 6 – Someone egged a car parked at a Tilby Road address sometime that morning.

July 6 – An officer and firefighters helped rescue four ducklings that had gone down the sewer on Cove Drive around 6 p.m. A resident called after hearing the mother duck make distressing noises.

July 5 – A Dennis Court woman complained about a vehicle picking up scrap material from lawns and leaving garbage everywhere around 8:15 p.m. A vehicle was found on Greenwood Oval and two individuals were cited for scavenging as it is illegal in the city.

July 5 – A West Hampton Drive resident reported someone took two pairs of sunglasses, TV screens and video player from an unlocked vehicle overnight.

July 5 – A vehicle was stopped for speeding at Royalton Road and Ashley Lane at 2:15 a.m. The driver, Andrew Ashcraft, allegedly had two grinders and rolling papers in his vehicle. He was cited for speeding and possession of paraphernalia.

July 5 – An officer followed a vehicle weaving and going around 15 mph before it stopped at Parliament and Devonshire drives around 4:50 p.m. The driver, Thomas Fiorillo, was arrested for OVI and cited for weaving, marked lanes, slow speed and failure to signal.

July 3 – A caller reported her neighbors on Akins Road were fighting, with a female half hitting a male just after 5 p.m. The male said his wife had hit him several times that day, most recently in the back of the neck with a garden hose. It was found the woman, Carrie Hejduk, had a protection order against her husband, David Betancourt, who was arrested for violation of the order. She was also arrested for domestic violence.

July 2 – A vehicle was stopped for speeding on York Road south of Royalton Road at 2:18 a.m. The officer allegedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle and the driver, Jared L. Kaderbek, 25, of Brunswick, allegedly said there was “not much.” A small baggie and blunt were allegedly found in the vehicle. Kaderbek was cited for drug abuse and speeding.

June 30 – A vehicle was stopped for window tint on Walnut Hill Drive at 10:43 p.m. The driver, Kevin Greene, of Brunswick, had a 16-year-old female passenger with him. Three baggies of marijuana were allegedly found inside the vehicle. Greene was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and drug abuse and also cited for prohibited tint.

June 29 – An officer noticed a vehicle whose owner who had a OVI license suspension and stopped it on Bunker Road just east of Ridge Road at 10:39 p.m. The driver was the owner, James Konopka, who was arrested for driving under OVI suspension and cited for expired plates. A credit card belonging to another man was allegedly found in the vehicle, with Konopka reporting he found it at a local business and was planning on giving it back to the man. The card has reportedly already been canceled.
