Melloney Campbell, founder of Startup Peel. is a champion of women-led companies and acts as a voice to government advocating for stronger entrepreneur support. In 2018, Melloney was recognized as Startup Canada’s Community Leader of the Year.
Melloney says women are often not given the financing they need for their startup, to grow and scale up business, nor are they seldom considered for opportunities into executive roles.

She seeks to change the narrative next Wednesday, Mar. 27 with "Take Your Seat 2019", a powerhouse women's panel,
that will be held at C-Banquets inside Mississauga City Hall.
The breakfast event celebrates Women's History Month.
Three panelists will share their insights, including: Preeti Malik, a financial services executive and advisor for startups, who will tackle the common challenges women face in our careers.
Mandy Grewal has enjoyed much success in the tech ecosystem and has held key roles at a number of large Canadian & global organizations.
Mandy will share her insights on getting early support and leveraging relationships that build up business.
Jackie Porter, Partner at Carte Financial Services, whose life experience of losing her single parent to cancer at the tender age of 16 led her to figure out how to make the most of her limited financial resources.
Jackie will talk about mindset to break through mental financial blocks that can set women on the path for generational wealth.
$25 from every ticket sold will be directed to Startup Peel's Microfund, to help a woman-owned business.
