Owners today are not na�ve, just perhaps over-emotional and easily carried away by the enthusiasm for a vast new toy, perhaps forgetting the fact that this is always a very
serious investment and not a whimsical `flashing of the cash'. They need to learn to listen to the right people and adopt a more pragmatic approach, ensuring that they
disclose all their needs and whims, allowing the team players to deliver on his or her expectations. It is very common, Franc suggested, that owners have expectations in
terms of length, cost and operation that are poles apart from reality; it is the job of YPI Yacht Management to manage those expectations and make sure the owners' feet are
firmly on the ground. "We don't want to over-promise and invariably there are people in the market who clearly fuel the fiery ego and suggest that anything's possible, for a
limited budget; then add into the mix that we "don't need those expensive lawyers, just use this guy, he'll make it work."
