T
HE bedroom looks like the
proverbial bombsite, with
piles of clothes and children's
toys strewn across the floor.
Kath Travis, 25, is the owner
of this bedroom and she feels
that the amount of mess is getting too
much for her.
She admits she needs to re-organise
her space but does not know where to
start and this is where professional
de-clutterer Katy Higgins comes in.
Katy feels she has a natural ability to
re-organise people's homes after doing
the same with her own home after the
birth of her second child.
She is also a member of the
Association of Professional De-
clutterers and Organisers.
Katy says: "People usually want this
service when they have a life-changing
event, such as moving house or giving
birth.
"The idea is just to try and make
more space for them and give them the
opportunity to change."
Katy aims to achieve less stress from
mess for her clients and this is
something that Kath wanted as she
says the mess has got too much for her.
Kath, of Isel Road, says she heard
about Katy's business because their
children both attend the same school.
She says: "I felt I needed to have a
change because my bedroom was a
complete mess and I found it very
stressful.
"I felt I didn't have the time or
motivation to reorganise or even know
where to start.
"I was constantly late for things and
with a new baby and a wedding to plan,
I needed to get my head round it all and
how best to reorganise using the spa
that I had."
Kath says she was amazed with th
transformation she had seen of other
people's houses on Katy's website an
hopes the same can be achieved for h
bedroom.
Three hours later and the room is
unrecognisable from the chaos that
reigned beforehand.
Katy says it only takes a few hours
go from chaos to calm and is pleased
see the reaction of Kath when the roo
has been de-cluttered.
Kath says she feels a lot happier an
thinks that the house will now be a
place where people will want to come
and stay.
She says: "Katy has done a great jo
and I can now walk round my room
without tripping over things.
"I feel so much better that we have
de-cluttered and I am really happy w
the final results although at the
