KUHNMEETING EVERY FARMER'S
REQUIREMENTS
GA4521 RAKE
Farming at Buttermere in the Lake District, at Croft Farm, the Stagg family,
Dad, Brian and wife, Barbara along with daughter, Linda and son, Thomas
who helps when not at school, they have 440 acres, on which they farm
1200 breeding ewes and 80 beef cattle. They purchased a Kuhn single
rotor rake GA4521 to complement their Kuhn mower which had replaced a
previous model of ten years. "We like the Kuhn FC 283 GII mower, it had to
get under grass which had got laid this last Summer and it managed it with
no problems and combined with the single rotor rake which moved the swath
from two rows into one, which dried it better and made it faster and easier
for baling. "We like the build quality of the Kuhn machines and they do the
job well," says Brian.
NC COMBI 3003
"The Kuhn 3003 with NC Drill has excellent seed placement", says agricultural contractor, Graham Prudham of I.J.&G.
Prudham. The one tonne hopper gives it a very high capacity, and the seed adjustable rates make it easy to alter when
sowing, allowing more seed to wet ground when needed and less to dry. It handles stones well and gives excellent
seed placement due to discs, especially in heavy clay soils. The system has the option to drill into stubble which gives
the added advantage of savings on fuel and labour.
AXIS 40.1
Buying a Kuhn Axis 40.1 has given agricultural contractor, Graham Prudham, full electric weigh cell control, on the
move calibration, accurate to within 25kg within 300-400 acres, with an output of 400-500 acres per day, just the
ticket for contractors and farmers alike with a necessity to cover as many acres as possible within a day.

NC COMBI UNIT
The Kuhn NC 3003 combination drill used by Lord Inglewood Estates, has been found to give better crop
establishment when wet or dry when using front press. The drill is easy to set up, very accurate, the tines are easy to
change and there is very little down time, I was told by Andy Anderson Estate Manager.

Kuhn have a full range of mowers starting at 6' for meadow hay,
up to mower conditioners and larger straight mowers
for speed and efficiency.

Holydean Farm is home to Robert and Victoria Brickell along with their daughters Rosie, 5 and Alice, 4.
They have 760 acres with 450 sown down to arable, 120 acres of woodland plus grass. A 35 strong herd of
Simmental cattle and 300 clean sheep."I had been looking for a disc drill and power harrow, and while discussing
my requirements with Neil Douglas from Rickerby's. I was impressed with his enthusiasm for the Kuhn NC 3000. I
knew that Kuhn have a good reputation for reliable equipment. We have heavy wet land and Neil was confident that
the Kuhn NC 3000 would be ideal for us. With some machines we would not have got the seed cover, that the Kuhn
gave us, it is a well thought out drill without being too heavy. The spacing is good and allows soil to get through
without choking. The power harrow was one of the main requirements for us and it has been good value for money.
Calibration is simple and accurate, with the hydraulics vari speed fan powered off the power harrow. I like the ability
to vary the seed rate whilst sowing and the following wheels helped ensure seed soil contact in a bad season. It has
increased the forward speed and working with Mintill reduces seed rates, continues Robert. "Consistent placement
of the seed bars is assured by the weight of the packer roller. Rickerby's engineer set the system up very well and,
considering that I bought the whole outfit from a brochure on the recommendation and advice of Neil Douglas of
Rickerby's and Kuhn's reputation I could not be more pleased, concluded Robert.
MDS 935 FERT SPINNERS
Mr Phil Sherwen had a Kuhn Spinner for twelve years. I like Kuhn equipment, it is solid and reliable , so I
replaced the old spinner with a new Kuhn MDS 935. I find it very easy to set up and very accurate when
spreading. Phil farms with his father Norman on 200 acres at Low Thorney, they have dairy cows and
followers.
LC 302 COMBI UNIT
Four hundred acres in total are farmed at Kirkley West Hall by Mr Ricky Alder, 200 acres are sown down to arable
crops of wheat, barley, oats, and grass in rotation. The family farm has 350 breeding ewes and fattening cattle. Ricky
purchased a Kuhn combination drill HR3003 plus a LC302 power harrow,
after visiting the Rickerby Spring show last March. "The Kuhn really lives up to expectations, it came through really well
even with such a poor season as we had last year, says Ricky. We managed to sow wheat, oats and some barley, we
sowed 120 acre for a neighbour also. The 3 rows of tines do a great job and the drill is a great labour and time saving
purchase.
