Throughout
Scotland...
...You will find a wide range of events with a
walking theme ranging from a short
countryside ranger-led walk, mountain film
festivals to inspire you or a week-long
walking festival where you can enjoy a local
welcome (usually with some post-walk
entertainment) and challenging but safe
walking led by experienced local leaders. If
you're new to walking in Scotland, walking
festivals offer you a great opportunity to
learn more about a particular area and build
up your Scottish walking experience in a safe
and friendly social setting. The next few
pages detail some of the key walking
festivals and events which are taking place
throughout Scotland in 2009.
