YOUR PLEASUREWOOD HILLS SUMMER
SAVER VOUCHER IS ON PAGE 42
A VISIT to the region's biggest and
best theme park is never a miss.
Pleasurewood Hills has been offer-
ing the very the best of family
entertainment for many years and
actually celebrated its 25th anniver-
sary in 2008.
This 50-acre park is just ten min-
utes south of Great Yarmouth and
only five minutes north of
Lowestoft.
Pleasurewood Hills has all the
ingredients for a great day out and
really does have something for all
members of the family (whether
young or just young at heart).
Pleasurewood's latest ride is
Wipeout... the tallest, fastest and
most extreme rollercoaster in the
East of England.
Passengers are launched along
900 feet of twisted steel at speeds
touching 50mph and pulling over
5Gs as they hurtle through three
inversions forwards and then back-
wards!
From adrenalin-fuelled white-
knuckle thrill rides and coasters like
Enigma, Wizzy Dizzy and Thunder
Struck to white-water family
favourites that are guaranteed to
`cool you off' including Mellow
Yellow and the Wave Breaker.
There's even a great selection of
fun rides for the smallest of adven-
turers.
Be sure to explore the heart of
the park Main Street and it's
unique, interactive maritime theme!
You'll come for the rides and
you'll stay for the shows... prepare
to be entertained with a range of
first class shows including the awe-
some antics of the Sea Lions, the
hilarious Parrots and the breathtak-
ing Magic Circus spectacular.
When the action gets too much,
take a more leisurely ride on the
alpine chairlift or jump aboard one
of the two railways that weave their
way through the park. Alternatively,
enjoy the great range of restaurants
and shops where visitors can sam-
ple an excellent choice of hot and
cold food and drinks.
The park opens daily at 10am
from April 4 through until October
31, but visitors are advised to
check the website, or ring for com-
plete opening details before plan-
ning their trip. Look out for the dis-
count voucher within this publica-
tion and Save Up To 12 on your
visit.

REDWINGS was established in 1984 and in
2009 celebrates its Silver Jubilee.
Over the last 25 years, Redwings has grown
to become the largest horse charity in the UK,
working to provide and promote the welfare,
care and protection of horses, ponies, donkeys
and mules.
The charity currently looks after more than
1000 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules that no
longer have a working life but still enjoy a quality
of life.
Those horses and ponies capable of a work-
ing life are re-homed through the Redwings
Guardianship Scheme, which has so far placed
more than 500 equines in loan homes.
Redwings' dedicated welfare team responds
to 3,000 calls annually to its Welfare Hotline and
investigates over 700 cases a year where the
welfare of a horse is a cause for concern.
At Redwings' Caldecott Visitor Centre, near
Great Yarmouth, there is the chance to meet
some of the Sanctuary's equine inhabitants, and
with more than 100 horsey residents at the site
and acres of paddock walks, there is plenty for
the whole family to enjoy.
Residents include beautiful pony Darcey,
Muffin the mule, cheeky donkey Denise and
stunning Shire Victor.
Visitors to the centre can meet the horses and
ponies, watch horse care demonstrations, shop
in the gift shop or enjoy a light meal in the
Nosebag caf.
There is even the chance to adopt one of the
centre's special equines.
Redwings also has visitor centres at Oxhill,
near Stratford-upon-Avon, in the Midlands, and
at the Ada Cole Rescue Stables in Harlow,
Essex.
Its Norfolk centre is open daily from March 28
- October 31, 10am to 5pm, while those in
Essex and Warwickshire are open all year round
entry to all the centres is free of charge.
For more information on how to visit
Redwings, log on to the website at
www.redwings.co.uk or telephone the visi-
tor helpline on 0870 040 0033.
The charity is entirely dependent on the kind-
ness of members of the public and receives no
government funding to carry out its vital rescue
and rehabilitation work.
You can travel along
the seafront at
Great Yarmouth in
horse-drawn style.
