I
T may be getting colder, but the
theatres in Essex are hotting up
for the autumn/winter season.
And what better way to get
yourself in the festive mood than
by going along to a fantastic show
or a gig?
At the Colchester Arts Centre
there is plenty of entertainment
packed in for November and
December, including some of the
best musical acts around.
There's plenty of choice across
the genres as well, ranging from
local jazz guru Gilad Atzmon on
November 8, classic rockers the
Hamsters on November 19, metal
gods Gallows on December 13
and former Squeeze frontman
Glen Tilbrook on December 16.
As always there is plenty to laugh
at too, with stand-up comedian
and 8 out of 10 Cats panellist,
Sean Lock on November 17, the
laconic Jeremy Hardy on
November 15, and a welcome
return of easy-listeners' favourite,
John Shuttleworth.
He will be back at the Church
Street venue on November 18,
but this time, instead of
performing classics as Pigeons in
Flight he will be showing his new
film, Southern Softies.
This year also marks the 68
