ADVERTISING FEATURE
A
charming and unspoiled seaside resort,
Broadstairs has been attracting visitors for
over 200 years, with the young Princess
Victoria and Charles Dickens being two of the many
luminaries that have found peace and inspiration in
the atmosphere, history and scenery of the town.
It's not hard to see why visitors return. From its cliff
top promenade and winding lanes to its seven
glorious beaches and bays, there is much to delight.
Tiny flint houses and fishermen's cottages nestle
together and overlook the quaint harbour with its
bobbing fishing boats. The promenade, which
overlooks the town's main beach, is lined with
restaurants, bars and two famous 1950s Italian cafs
offering the ultimate in homemade ice creams.
For seaside fun, there is Viking Bay, with children's amusement park,
donkey rides, tidal pool and all the town's facilities a short walk away.
Stone Bay offers quieter family fun, with adventurous rock pooling, whilst
Joss Bay is the best surfing beach in the South East, with a beach caf and a
surf and kayak school. And if you want to get away from it all, rural Botany
Bay, with its beautiful white cliffs and chalk stacks, offers a tranquil retreat.
For entertainment, the town has plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs, plus
a busy calendar of events, which includes music and literary festivals and
regular firework spectaculars through the summer. With so much to do,
Broadstairs offers visitors a truly memorable stay.
