VISITORS to the North Norfolk
coast are enchanted by the many
delightful villages strung along the
A149 coast road.
Villages such as Brancaster
Staithe and Blakeney with their
delightful harbours, Stiffkey with its
reputation for tasty cockles and
Cley, a world-renowned centre for
bird-watching.
Go a little further east and you
will come across the little cliff-top
fishing village of East Runton,
between Sheringham and Cromer.
Why not stop here for a while, and
see what it has to offer?
For a start there is a Greek
restaurant complete with singing
waiters, the award-winning luxury
bed and breakfast, Incleborough
House, along with pubs, a grocery
store, fish and chip shop, and a tea
room which becomes a bistro in
the evening.
The biggest surprise, however, is
an outdoor and military store, the
Kit Bag. Established in 1987, it has
built up a reputation for having per-
haps the largest selection of
Regatta outdoor clothing in the
area, with much at discounted
prices. You can also find sleeping
bags, rucksacks and much more
for the outdoor person.
There is a large array of cammo
clothing for adults and children,
including the popular Jack Pyke
range of breathable stealth gar-
ments, ideal for bird-watching,
photography and field sports when
silence in clothing is the order of
the day.
Local Ordnance Survey maps
can be purchased to guide the
more energetic around the many
miles of public footpaths, many on
National Trust land, just south of
the coast road.
Famous Cromer crabs, caught
and prepared in the village, can be
purchased from shops in the area.
Picnic on the clifftop, and watch
the sun rise and set over the North
Sea, something which can only be
done in a very few locations on the
east coast. Look on a map and you
will see why!
Over the years many people
have found East Runton, with its
friendly and helpful businesses and
locals, to be the ideal spot, just to
relax for a few hours or to spend a
holiday. Why not join them, you will
not be disappointed.
SEASIDE Special, Cromer Pier's
record-breaking end-of-the-pier variety
show is back for another year, bringing
you a rich mix of comedy, music, song
and dance to create the perfect blend
of entertainment that is bound to put a
smile on your face.
The stars of this years show are Simmons and
Simmons. Keith Simmons is one half of the
famous Simmons Brothers, an act that graced
the Pavilion Theatre for three seasons of Seaside
Special.
Keith has recently teamed up with his son Ben
and after a very successful season at
Bournemouth Pier in 2008, they were invited to
headline Seaside Special 2009.
As well as being one half of Simmons and
AMAZONA ZOO, which opened last year,
is home to a wide range of animals from
Tropical South America.
It took two years for Amazona to
emerge from ten acres of derelict wood-
land and the abandoned brick kilns just
to the south of Cromer town.
The wide variety of animals at the zoo
include jaguars, otters, spider monkeys
and flamingos.
All the animals have arrived through
the generosity of other British zoological
gardens. None are imported from the
wild.
Benefiting from Cromer's favourable
sunshine and low rainfall, the grounds of
the new zoo offer the animals and visi-
tors a relaxed and pleasant environment.
Amazona will join the other 84 mem-
bers of the British and Irish Association
of Zoos and Aquaria in their concerted
efforts in education, research and con-
servation, and is already supporting
urgent amphibian conservation work in
South America.

exhaustively for Show Biz Charities.
Ben is also an accomplished actor, singer,
pianist and Impro performer! He has featured as
one of the leads in the comedy film Speed Date,
and as a policeman in the thriller, A Quiet Storm.
On TV he has played the resident pianist in the
BBC 1 series Hotel Babylon as well as appear-
ing in episodes of Eastenders, The Bill and
Holby.
Joining Keith and Ben for this year's show is
mulitistrumentalist Andy Eastwood. Andy
belongs to the new generation of artists who are
bringing variety entertainment into the 21st cen-
tury.
A virtuoso on the ukulele banjo, violin and
guitar, Andy's unique act is an upbeat blend of
dazzling instrumental artistry, foot-tapping songs
and bright and breezy humour.
Starting his very first season at the Pavilion
Theatre is Luke Cook, an extremely talented
magician who won the 2008 Norfolk Find a Star
competition and was also runner up in the
national Search For A Star competition.

June 20, and runs until Saturday, September 19,
with shows each Tuesday to Saturday at 8pm.
