brimming with treasures from the
Welsh national collections,
including works by the
celebrated painter Graham
Sutherland.
But the discovery doesn't end
there. The striking curved building
 an attraction in itself also
houses our Visitor Information
Centre. Use the interactive
displays, or talk to staff, to find
out about walks and activities;
attractions, restaurants and places
to stay in the National Park. You
can buy maps and guides for the
area or browse the locally sourced
gifts to take home.
Then there's the Discovery
Room, Oriel y Parc's interactive
space, where we host a lively
programme of events throughout
the year to inspire visitors of all ages
to get creative and explore the
landscape. You can also watch art
being created in our Artist in
Residence studio and perhaps even
chat to the artist.
And to round off your visit we've
got a 50 seat caf where you can
enjoy home produced light meals
made with local, seasonal produce,
as well as some delicious cakes and
drinks.
We look forward to welcoming
you to Oriel y Parc and we hope it
inspires you to journey further into
the National Park to discover all that
Pembrokeshire has to offer.

The clever building
Oriel y Parc is one of Wales' greenest buildings.
It was awarded a BREEAM `Excellent' rating in
2008 for its sustainable design and construction.
Underneath its elegant faade, the green technologies
working away to provide a comfortable, sustainable
environment include a
ground source heat
pump, a rainwater
harvesting system, sedum
and turf roofs,
photovoltaic roof cells and
solar panels.
All the family can find out more

We use the collections in our galleries to explore ideas and
inspire creativity in our Oriel y Parc schools programme.
Themes include colour in the landscape; designs from
nature; recording the landscape and `reading paintings' to
inspire creative writing. Talks and teacher-led sessions are
also available. Call us on 01437 725082 to find out more

Our main gallery will lead you
on a thematic journey through
the Pembrokeshire landscape
and across the ages. Each year
our programme of exhibitions
will explore different aspects
of landscape - its people,
buildings, weather, sounds,
geology, animals, plants and
language - all the elements
that help to shape the land
and influence how we see and
enjoy it. Our theme for 2009 is
The Hidden Landscape. Some
exhibits are famous, like
Fishing Boats by L.S. Lowry;
others are more ordinary, but
with special qualities, including
a brick from Porthgain
intended to unlock discussion
about the industrial history of
Pembrokeshire and encourage
visitors to explore it for
themselves.
