Frank Whiting
Role: Frenchgate Centre Manager
Appointed early this year and formerly commercial
director of European property company Boultbee
Land and centre manager of EFM and
Donaldsons. Has operational responsibility for
general management including renovation, exten-
sions and securing new retailers with current focus
on developing the food court. Frenchgate has
attracted ten million visitors so far this year, up 4.2
per cent on 2008, bucking the national trend
which averages -3.0 per cent against last year.
So Him Fong
Role: Managing Director of Kingasia Foods and
Pearl Northern Developments Ltd
A graduate builder and Associate Member of the
Chartered Institute of Builders, started both com-
panies with his brother Kin Him Fong in 1985 and
now employs 200 staff. So Him leads the senior
management team at Kingasia, an oriental food
producer, and is responsible for sales, operations,
buying and finance. He also designed and built the
50,000 sq ft Kingasia factory in Doncaster and the
firm serves retail, foods service, B2B and exports
into Europe. Expansion is planned over the next
three years.

Nigel Brewster
Role: President of Doncaster Chamber and
Managing Director of Sewell Moorhouse
Chamber president since 2008, chairs its board of
directors and helps to set the strategic direction of
the business. Instrumental in setting the skills
agenda as the Chamber's top priority by forging
new links between business and education so
local companies can find skilled staff and learners
can recognise the varied career opportunities in
Doncaster. At the recruitment group Sewell
Moorhouse, he manages more than 60 staff in the
executive search, accountancy, and secretarial
recruitment businesses across all offices.
7 Adam Waterworth
Role: Managing Director of Doncaster
Racecourse
Joined Cheltenham Racecourse under a manage-
ment training programme after graduating in 1991
and became manager of Huntingdon Racecourse
two years later. Held managerial posts at various
other courses including Warwick, Nottingham,
Carlisle and Haydock Park. Moved to Doncaster in
2006 and recently announced DFS as chief spon-
sor of Ladies' Day at this year's St Leger Festival.
Nick Wilson
Role: Regional Director for the National
Apprenticeship Service in Yorkshire and the
Humber
Previously director of area for the Learning and
Skills Council in South Yorkshire. Appointed when
the National Apprenticeship Service launched in
April ahead of the LSC being dissolved next year.
The organisation has end to end responsibility for
apprenticeships in England and aims to increase
the number of opportunities and provide a dedi-
cated, responsive service for both employers and
learners. NAS has simplified the recruitment
process through apprenticeship vacancies, an
online web-based matching service.
Mike Morton
Role: Airport Director at Robin Hood Airport.
A qualified mining engineer who spent 21 years in
the coal industry before switching to aviation and
working in areas including ground handling and air
cargo. He was operations director at Coventry
Airport until his appointment in 2008. More than a
million passengers currently fly from Robin Hood
each year.
Jon Lloyd
Role: Chief Executive of UK Coal
A chartered surveyor and former head of property
at HBOS Plc and managing director of Yorkshire
Water Estates. Appointed as property director in
2006 and promoted to chief executive in 2007.
The company is Britain's biggest producer of coal.
It regenerates brownfield land and manages busi-
ness parks on former mining sites. Its property
interests were valued at �422 million in 2008.
