We are looking for a motivated person who is committed to supporting children, young
people and families with a range of additional needs.
WAVE is a multi agency, early intervention project. It is managed by a Principle Social Worker, there
are 2 Primary Mental Health Workers and 3 WAVE Project Workers in the team.
You will be expected to work with primary children and young people, parents/carers in a variety of
settings in school and in the community. You will be working with professionals from voluntary and
statutory agencies across both the Dover, Deal and Sandwich Partnerships.
You will be delivering support that will promote the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of
children and families in accordance with the Every Child Matters agenda.
You must be able to plan, prepare and deliver direct work in home and school settings and plan
and facilitate group work. Experience of work within a school and family setting is essential.
You will encourage independence, resilience and good emotional wellbeing through understanding
normal child development, attachment theory and emotional literacy, and have the ability to
effectively communicate with children and young people, their parents/carers and professionals
from other agencies.
You must have a flexible approach, a sound values base and be able to work effectively in a team
as well as independently and have a commitment to equal opportunities, good time management
and organisational skills, which will include good record keeping skills and the ability to
communicate clearly in writing.
You will be expected to travel throughout the district in undertaking your work. The Governors are
