Galway will play host to a
major wrestling
showdown when the
current world champion
Joe Legend and former
WWE Superstar Gangrel
go head to head for IWF
World Championship title
at Rampage 08 in Galway
next month.
The superstars of
wrestling roll into
Leisureland, Salthill, on
Tuesday March 18 for
Rampage 08 - Superstars
Of American Wrestling
and it promises to be the
biggest wrestling event
outside of Dublin and
Belfast.
Leisureland will be
transformed into a
fighting arena for the
occasion as wrestlers
from the USA, Mexico,
Japan, and Europe take to
the canvass to boast,
square up to each other,
fight, and entertain.
Gangrel will certainly
be up for the fight. He
never won a major title
while appearing in the
WWE rings and he says
he is not going to let this
opportunity pass without
giving it a 8220100 per cent
effort8221 to finally get some
gold around his waist.
Another highlight of
the night will be the Divas
Championship match
between the European
Champion 8216Minx8217 Sarah
Jones and Cork8217s Erin
Angel.
8216Minx8217 Sarah Jones
from Sunderland is the
current holder of the
Queens of Chaos
European Ladies
Championship and title
belt. Although still only
20, Erin has been
wrestling for nearly five
years. Most of her
matches take place in
Britain but she has also
competed in France
against Japanese and
American wrestlers.
Also making an
appearance on the night
will be former Mr USA
Broady Steele. The
Brooklyn native weighs
almost 20 stone. He is the
father of the former WWE
World Champion Brett
8216The Hitman8217 Hart and
was responsible for
training the likes of the
late Chris Benoit and The
British Bulldog.
Scotland8217s 8216Highlander8217
Drew McDonald should
cause a storm of
controversy with his rule-
breaking ways. Drew is
currently part of the
WWE8217s development
division and is always on
the lookout for new talent.
The Celtic Warrior is
new on the scene (but
bears a striking
resemblance to the
WWE8217s Batista). He8217s big,
muscular, and is a born
fighter. Mexico City8217s
Mystico Del Rio - a
sensational masked star -
is a high flyer.
The night will end with
a six-man elimination tag
match. There are no falls
or submissions in this
match - the only way to be
eliminated is to be thrown
over the top rope - similar
to a Royal Rumble. The
last man standing in the
ring will be declared the
winner.
Bell time is 7.30pm and
