stands the inviting Fox and Coney Inn.
Dating back 1739, the Fox and Coney Inn
is in fact the second oldest building in the
village and was once a coaching inn
providing a welcome rest for weary
travellers.
Today, however, the inn has been
converted into a pub and restaurant, offering
fine dining and a warm, friendly welcome to
a mixture of tourists and business visitors
alike. Consequently, the inn is now one of
the most popular eateries in village and a
fantastic stopping point for visiting the
surrounding attractions such as Cave Castle,
Rowley Manor and Rudstone Walk Farm.
The Inn serves food daily either in the bar
or the restaurant and includes an extensive
menu ranging from sandwiches to pasta,
grills and fish. Chef specialities include
delicious home cooked pies, fish and steak
as well as a specials board updated daily.
The Fox and Coney also strives to
accommodate diners with special dietary
needs.
The Fox and Coney also provides twelve
ensuite contemporary rooms, all with colour
satellite television, tea and coffee making
facilities, and a telephone.
It is also winner of the Best Pub Business
2003, was nominated for CAMRA pub of the
year 2005, entered into the AA Good pub
Guide 2004 / 2005 and holds a Cask Marque
