or many years South Quay
Cruises have specialised in
providing ex-UK `no fly' cruis-
ing holidays aboard smaller
and medium sized classic and more
traditional style ships.
They offer a more leisurely and friendly
`home from home' style of cruising, accessible
to a much wider choice of interesting and
remote ports of call.
South Quay Cruises have realised that
many seasoned and first time British cruise
passengers still prefer the more traditional
cruising experience.
They are not looking for vast shopping malls
and atriums, swimming pools with large
flumes, ice skating, and even rock climbing
options, which are found on the newer breed of
mega resort style ships, in the company of up
to 3,500 passengers.
South Quay Cruises put more emphasis on
attaining high levels of customer satisfaction
by offering personal, attentive and friendly
service, ensuring that their discerning passen-
gers return home with many fond memories
and will cruise with them again and again.
The company now offers an exciting and
extended programme of cruises for 2010,
under the new brand of Cruise & Maritime
Voyages.
There will be 24 cruises departing from
Tilbury on the popular Marco Polo, plus 22
brand new cruises on board the slender Ocean
Countess, departing from seven regional ports
around the United Kingdom.
Over recent years, the 800-passenger,
22,000grt Marco Polo has built up a strong fol-
lowing on the British market, offering a fine
tradition of destination cruising and a great

grand tradition of cruising
value cruise experience. In 2010, Marco Polo
will be positioned as a `child free' ship, operat-
ing exclusively for adult passengers, and her
home port will be the London Cruise Terminal
in Tilbury.
In addition, South Quay Cruises are proud
to welcome the 800-passenger, 17,500grt
Ocean Countess to the fleet following a 3 mil-
lion refurbishment during the winter, prior to
the start of the season in spring 2010.
She began service as the popular Cunard
Countess and became one of the best-known
ships to sail the Caribbean.
Ocean Countess will operate all year round
from seven different British ports, including
London Tilbury, Hull, Newcastle, Edinburgh
Leith, Greenock, Liverpool, and Plymouth,
bringing cruising closer to home.
There are some fabulous cruises available
for 2010, starting with prices from only 149
per person for a two-night Amsterdam
