Martin Dixon of Shire Hall, bought a Mustang 2054
from Rickerbys to replace an older skidsteer which had
become unreliable.
Martin explains "The skidsteer reliability is paramount
as it is used every day. It is
easy to operate and control,
and this model has a slightly
larger lift capacity to the
previous model, lifting
up to 748 kilos. I like the
suspension seat it is very
comfortable, and it is able
to travel around quickly
from one job to the next. It is slightly lower than our
previous machine which makes it good for accessing
low buildings. The full cab is substantial, the machine
is stable when filling hoppers for beef cattle, or filling
the crusher. Mucking out straw pens, using a bucket
brush for sweeping concrete and tarmac are all part
and parcel of it's daily work. It came complete with
bucket and grab too.
We saw it at Rickerby's Spring Show and became
interested then and went on to purchase one.
Martin farms with his Dad Thomas at Shire Hall, they
have 400 acres plus extra grazing for Summer. The
farm Beef cattle, sheep and arable and rear calves.
