Marina Pez Vela, located in
the sport fishing capital of
the world, is preparing for a
summer debut with its first 100

this July. Located along Costa
Rica's Pacific coast in the village
of Quepos, Marina Pez Vela is
destined to further enhance the
area's reputation as a boating,
yachting and fishing
paradise. Spanning
approximately 40
acres of land and
water overlooking
the Pacific Ocean,

"As we begin 2009,
I'm pleased to report
we are on schedule to
open phase one this
summer," confirms
project founder
Harold Lovelady,
noting the first phase
of construction includes 100
slips, accommodating yachts
up to 200 feet in length. "Marina
Pez Vela is no longer a dream,
but now a reality."
The 300-slip, state-of-the-art
marina will feature one of the
most sophisticated breakwaters
ever built for a recreational
marina, providing a safe harbor
and hurricane protection.
The extra wide modern
concrete floating docks, built
by Bellingham Marine, allow
safe loading of passengers
and equipment, and secure
moorage. In addition, Marina
Pez Vela will boast the only full-
service repair facility in Central
America, complete with a 75
and 200-ton Travel-lift, as well
as a fully staffed maintenance

at $125,000.
"Marina Pez Vela will offer all the
`bells and whistles' expected by

communities," stated Lovelady.
"Most significantly, Marina Pez
Vela provides a full-service base
of operations for fishing and
boating along the Pacific coast
of Central America opening
thousands of miles of ocean
that was nearly impossible to
fish previously."
