BURNHAM DEEPDALE --
Renowned for its Saxon
Round Church Tower and
its unique early Norman
font, showing carvings of
work during the 12 months
and four seasons of the
year.
Brancaster Staithe and
Burnham Deepdale offer a range
of accommodation including
hotel, bed-and-breakfast, self-
catering and camping.
Deepdale Farm has recently
developed Dalegate Market, a
new complex incorporating a
supermarket, petrol station, Fat
face store, estate agents, florists
and superb Deepdale Cafe, an
excellent addition to Deepdale
backpackers and camping, offer-
ing stylish accommodation in
their new en-suite studios.
The cafe has become a popular
venue for both locals and visitors
alike.
Be sure to sample the Big
Breakfast served from 7.30am to
noon. Light snacks and lunches
are available throughout the day,
all specialising in the use of
local produce.
Sandwiches and freshly-pre-
pared picnics can be ordered for
your day out.
Situated on the Coastal
Footpath, the area is the ideal
base for short distance strollers
or hikers.
Interesting short walks are
available around Barrow
Common, a unique area of over
60 acres, comprising woodland,
heath and open areas with out-
standing views of the coastline,
and containing a fine variety of
trees, plants
and birdlife.
The Common is an ideal place
for picnics and spotting wildlife.
PLEASE NOTE:- CAMPING
AND OFF-ROAD DRIVING ARE
NOT ALLOWED ON THE COM-
MON.
For longer walks, enjoy the
marsh paths or the newly-desig-
nated walkways around
Deepdale Farm.
For the more ambitious, the
area is situated on the Norfolk
Coastal Footpath, which follows
the whole of the Norfolk coast,
also linking up with the Peddars
Way.
Walking and cycling maps are
available from Deepdale
Information Centre.
