the Cleator Moor Co-op?

t was given to 14-year-old boys and girls
who wanted to work at Cleator Moor Co-
op in the 1930s � either as errand boys
or shop assistants. To make the test easier
for you, I have converted the figures from
pounds, shillings and pence into decimal.
I suggest you sit down somewhere quiet
with a notepad and pen. No calculators,
spell-checks, computers etc to be used. And

Opening time for shops
TWO shops have been de-
clared officially open re-
cently.
Copeland's deputy mayor,
Mike McVeigh, officially
opened the new Four Sea-
sons Express on Cleator
Moor's Main Street.
He is pictured with the
owners, Ashok Sharma and
Shila Sharma, and members
of their family.
Meanwhile, in Frizington,
councillor Jim Close cut the
ribbon on the new Boots UK,
based on the Main Street,
after it joined with Alliance
Pharmacy.
The refurbished store will
now include contemporary
private consultation areas,
as well as medicines check-
up and managed prescrip-
tion collection.
Coun Close said: "This
shop will be good for the
village. Frizington is ex-
panding, with new houses
being built, and I think Boots
has made a good move."
Store manager Kirstin
Duthie added: "We're de-
lighted to be able to offer
even better healthcare ser-
vices and a fantastic new
range of products.''
