I hope you enjoy reading about the exciting events
happening in Catholic Education around the Sauk
Valley Area.
At Newman Central Catholic High School, we strive
to educate the whole person; that is educating the
child academically, spiritually, athletically, and socially.
We strive for academic excellence in the classroom.
Our students are challenged by rigorous academic
pursuits; however, learning does happen outside of
the classroom. Learning at Newman happens in the
classroom, in the chapel or on retreat, on the sports
field, or on the musical stage. At Newman, our students
are given the gateway of many lifetime opportunities.
Their career choices for their life are endless.
I invite you to begin your journey at Newman.
Cordially,
Rev. Fr. David C. Finn
Superintendent/Principal
Providing
Extra
Support
Being Christian in nature, we support each
student's spiritual, social, moral, emotional, physical
and psychological development. As educators, we
encourage what will dignify mankind and aid in the
process of salvation.
Newman has approximately five percent of our
students on service plans, which provides for
moderate accommodations within the classroom.
With the assistance of Bi-County Special Ed, extra
support is provided to the student and teachers.
We strive to work with the student and family
to provide the best learning environment for all
students. Although we respect the individuality
and personal needs of each student, we do so
within our curricular standards. Newman offers
a challenging curriculum that provides students
with opportunities to reach their educational goals.
Ultimately, however, it is the student's responsibility
to put forth the needed effort to achieve success in
the school's program.
