his summer a
Hensingham couple will
be getting married at
the music festival that
was the location of their
engagement a year ago.
Brett Crane, 33, surprised
Rachel Holliday with a proposal as
they enjoyed B-Fest, held at Bower
House, Ennerdale, last year.
Now the couple are set to get
married during the festival in
July this year.
Rachel, 29, said: "We met after I
read Brett's blog on MySpace and
we started emailing each other.
We exchanged many emails before
we decided to meet up.
"We both just wanted friendship
but then after about eight weeks
we became a couple."
Twelve months later they went
to B-Fest. On the Saturday
morning of the festival, which was
Rachel's 29th birthday, Brett said
he had a little surprise for her.
"He read me a four-page letter
in the tent and then pulled out a
ring and proposed to me," said
Rachel, who works for a charity.
"It was a complete surprise.
"We thought that it would be
great if we could get married at
the festival so we approached the
organisers.
"We wanted a wedding that was
simple and didn't cost a lot and we
both love live music so the festival
seemed the ideal location."
They will be getting married on
Friday July 31 and after the
ceremony at Bower House there
will be a barbecue in the gardens
and music from Gavin McKew and
Full Tilt.
