GARDENING & FOOD FAIR
As we enter summer, Pensthorpe celebrates
the season with its annual Gardening & Food
Fair on June 6th and 7th. This annual event
brings together stunning plants and delicious
food. Wade through gorgeous plants from top
nurseries and discover the tantalising aromas in
the food marquee.
Why not head out into the park and take
inspiration from the incredible gardens the
Millennium Garden designed by world-renowned
plantsman Piet Oudolf, and the Wave Garden by
Julie Toll, both RHS Chelsea Gold Medal
Winners. Piet is widely recognised as one of the
most influential garden designers of the last 20
years and his Pensthorpe garden was his first
outside his native Holland. Over the course of
2009 the Millennium Garden is being redevel-
oped in accordance with a new plan prepared
by Piet, and will be the first of his gardens to
reflect his latest ideas.
MEDIEVAL SPECTACULAR
The Mediaeval Spectacular is a summer treat
for all ages and takes place at Pensthorpe on
August 29th, 30th and 31st. Take a step back in
time as Pensthorpe is invaded by medieval
hordes. Marvel at the entertaining minstrels, roar
at a jousting match or chat to costumed crafts-
men making and selling their historical wares at
Norfolk's largest Mediaeval event.
A walk around the reserve gives you countless
opportunities to spot the numerous bird species
on the lakes and in the woodland. Take a trip on
the Wensum Discovery Tour or visit the
Pensthorpe Conservation Centre. After your walk
enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal in the
Courtyard Caf or browse for gifts and home-
wares in the large Gift Shop.
