of course, party bands. The key thing to
remember when booking any act though, is to
always hear them first. If for any reason you
can8217t get to a live performance, don8217t be afraid
to ask them for a demo disc and for
testimonials.
A good group should also be able to help out
between their sets by playing music on their
system to keep guests entertained and this is a
good way to keep costs down as you won8217t need
to employ a DJ as well. But remember to ask the
band if they can do this and what music they
have available.
Your guests8217 taste in music will also differ
dramatically, so be sure to select a mixture of
styles which will appeal to everyone. A good tip is
to ask guests to write down three of their
favourite songs on their RSVPs and then ask the
band to include as many of these as possible.
Also, remember to check with musicians on
dress code, what time they intend to arrive,
whether they have their own equipment and
whether you8217ll need to pay any expenses.
In addition to music, there is of course a whole
host of entertainment you can provide for your
guests. Perhaps a close up magician who can
make their way around guests at the reception,
mime artists, staffed casino tables or caricature
artists. And, if the weather is fine, why not find
something to keep the children occupied away
from the adults like a bouncy castle or a
children8217s entertainer.
Of course there8217s nothing like ending the
evening with a blast of fireworks or a laser show,
both of which are absolute show stoppers, but
remember to cater for all ages 8211 if you8217ve some
elderly guests a few chairs outside and rugs for
