HERE Mariah Carey
goes her entourage
and her excess
luggage follows.The singer
recently landed at Heathrow
airport with over 25 bulging
suitcases to pile on her private jet.
The singing diva isn't alone in her
over-packing skills. More than a
third of British holidaymakers
admit to being disorganised or
over-zealous on the packing front,
according to a Post Office poll,
with 24 per cent confessing they
regularly cram in too much.
Having the right holiday
wardrobe will put a confident
strut in your stride as you hit the
beach, sights or cocktail bar.
"When you figure out your
suitcase, you figure out your life,"
says fashion designer Diane von
Furstenberg.
So filter your wardrobe to its
most fashionable basic form.
Work, rest or play, ensure your
suitcase is jet-set ready.TV
presenter and style adviser for
Freemans, Nicky Hambleton-Jones,
offers her hints for suitcase chic.
DAYTIME BASICS
"Pack items that have versatility
and can easily be dressed up and
down," Nicky advises."Maxi
dresses are not only highly
fashionable this season, but work
with a pair of flip-flops for day and
transform for night with a pair of
metallic gladiator sandals.
"Crisp, white linen trousers or
jeans are another good holiday
staple that will keep you cool
during the day when teamed with
a simple vest, and can easily be
vamped up with some layered gold
necklaces for evening.
"I always think you can't go
wrong with a selection of
colourful vests and camis, which
can be layered together or worn
individually for a different look,
without taking up a lot of valuable
packing space."
