Activities and Events organised by the National
Park Authority are described on this page and
opposite. Turn the page for full calendar listing.
Which walk suits me? Walks are classified using the symbols below:
Island walks aren't advisable for the elderly, infirm or children under 5
and the islands aren't suitable for wheelchairs. No dogs are allowed on the
islands.
Castlemartin walks allow access on to the MoD Range. They are
mostly Grade 3 walks and are not suitable for children under 11. No dogs
allowed.
Do I need to book? Events which need to be booked are clearly marked
`BOOKING ESSENTIAL' and a phone number is given.
Alternatively you can book in person at the National Park Information
Centres at Oriel y Parc in St Davids, also in Newport and Tenby.
What if the weather is bad? Leaders will always turn up at the event
start point and will decide whether or not the event can go ahead.
If BOOKING ESSENTIAL events have to be cancelled due to bad weather we
will try to contact you. If you haven't heard from us and the weather looks
bad, phone your booking number.
How much does it cost? Where we have to charge we try to keep the
National Park fee as low as possible, and you can have even this waived if
you travel to the event by public transport - just show your bus or rail ticket.

What should I wear and take? The weather on the coast can change
suddenly so bring along warm and waterproof clothing. Paths are often un-

ers or sandals. In warmer weather make sure you have sun cream, even on
an overcast day. And bring a bottle of water, especially on longer walks and
or warm days. For longer walks, such as island walks, you will need to bring
a packed lunch with you.
Can I bring my dog? Well behaved dogs are welcome on most walks, as
long as you keep them on a short lead. But please check for events that say
no dogs.
Ensuring your safety Please note that all young people under 18 must
be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you are inappropriately dressed
for the conditions the leader can turn you away.
Before you start, the leader will remind you of any potential dangers
please listen carefully. Neither the leader nor the National Park Authority
accepts responsibility for the safety of individuals (except through
