the wintertime ver-
sion of the sell-out
summer show, Taste of
London, is the first
truly Christmassy event
of the season.
It returns to ExCeL
London, in partnership
with Waitrose, for three
full days (December 4-
6) of indulgent eating,
drinking and shopping.
Dine at the finest
restaurants, see top
chefs at work, gather
festive foodie inspira-
tion and stock up on
speciality food and
drink from the country's finest producers.
As always, there are some huge names
lined up to attend with the likes of
Heston Blumenthal (pictured), Richard
Corrigan, Jean-Christophe Novelli and

appearances.

Olympics would be a

The dance maestro �
known for her extreme eye-
lashes �
was
one of the early pioneers of
hard house in the UK and
now has her own record
label and Ibiza residency.
Since starting out in the
late nineties, her style has
evolved to include breaks,
techno and trance.
This year she was the only
female DJ to appear in DJ
Magazine's Top
100, coming in
at number
76.

superclub matter on
November 27 as part of the
Riot! Presents Goodgreef
night and appears alongside
Anne Savage, Yoji and
Showtek + MC DV8.
She told The Docklands
sounds are constantly evolv-
ing in the dance music
scene.
"DJs don't have to have a
label anymore for playing a
certain type of sound.
Thanks to digital technolo-
gy, we don't have to play
one style of music � other
sounds are accessible.
"It's a shame there weren't
more women in the Top
100.
"You have to have the
whole package and work
doubly hard, pave your way
and make yourself worthy.
"I am known for my hard-
er music but I like techno,
trance and
breaks too.
"I have
a lot
more freedom international-
ly. I always have to see what
the crowd is like and never
decide on my set before.
"I never know what my
first track is going to be."
One thing clubbers can
expect at Riot! is a new
remix of Lashes' tune
Dancefloor Orgy by Alex
Kidd and Kid Kaos and
some stage shows.
Lashes is looking forward
to more international tour-
ing next year with evolving
music scenes in Egypt and
India. She also sees the
return of her Lashed parties
at venues including matter
and another album could be
on the horizon after releas-
ing 10 tracks this year.
But copying Tiesto and
playing in front of billions
of people at the 2012 games
would really have Lashes
fluttering.
"That really would be
amazing, I wouldn't even
know who to ask," she
added.
