imaginations run wild,
following a competition
brief to create a `Fantasy
Look' for the catwalk that
includes hair, make-up and
costume.
The final show
was a product
of weeks
of hard
chance to showcase their creative skills to the public, an opportunity
to which they don't usually get in the private setting of the saloon". Ms
Gillet goes of to say, "... the show is part of the enrichment programme to
build students confidence and work as a team in a different environment.
It is important to work as a team when under pressure, when preparing for
employment in the public sector".
Asthetensionbuiltupbackstageanextratreatfortheaudiencewasproduced
in the form of the BTEC Dance Company. This incredable dance troup
opened the show with a stunning Star Wars Theme dance performance,
that had the audience visably moved with surprise and delight.
Four highly experienced professionals from the industry judged: first,
second and third places, each awarded a trophy, with the winner receiving
a portfolio photoshoot.

participating students a limit of �10 was placed
on each costume.
Practical sessions with professional tutors
in `The Zone' hair and beauty salon have
been spent perfecting hair and make-up
techniques for the show.
