Let the lights begin!
A COLOURFUL arrangement
of lights will soon illuminate
the town of Ramsey.
On Saturday, November 29 the
festive lights will be switched on after
a day of fun, Christmas activities for
all the family.
From 9am-1pm there will be a
programme of musical events in Great
Whyte taking place around the clock
area. Local school children will be
singing and dancing alongside the
Ouse Valley Molly Dancers as well as
the Ramsey Choral Society singing
carols and festive music being
supplied from Neville Palmer on the
electric organ.
There will be stalls selling festive
items as well as competitions and a
tombola. Children can enjoy a ride on
a miniature steam train and there will
also be a bouncy castle to keep them
entertained.
The crowds will be able to get their
first glimpse of Santa at around
4.40pm and at 6pm there will be a
second performance from the Ouse
Valley Molly Dancers followed by
more carols, this time led by the Great
Whyte Baptist Choir and the Choral
Society.
The big switch on will take place at
7.10pm and will be followed by a
dazzling display of fireworks.
In the week leading up to the switch-
on shop owners in the town will be
dressing their windows in a
Cinderella theme to take part in the
best shop window competition.
And if your little one misses Santa
on the day then on Saturday,
December 6 and 13, they will have a
second chance. The Town Centre
Partnership has arranged for return
visits at a special Grotto on Great
Whyte, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Entry
is priced 5 per child and will include
a present and a photo with Santa.
