PROPOSAL: On Vicky's 27th
birthday Bruce sent a single
red rose every hour to her work
taking the final rose with the
ring in January 2007.
VENUE: North Lakes Hotel,
Penrith.
THEME: Pink and platinum.
BRIDE'S OUTFIT: A blush
Ronald Joyce gown, short veil
and hair slides all from the
Wedding Barn, Appleby.
GROOMSMEN: Robert
Little was best man. Gary
Errington, Michael Simpson,
Michael Grant, Johnny Latta
were ushers. Luke Johnston
was a page boy.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride's
sister Adele Johnston, 27, was
chief bridesmaid. Another
sister Jessica Johnston, 20, and
the groom's sister Lucy
Falconer, 35, were bridesmaids,
they wore granite coloured
dresses. Charlotte Leith, three,
and Erin Leith, five, were
flowergirls.
FLOWERS: The bride had a
bouquet of cream roses and
pink gerberas.
TRANSPORT: A horse-
drawn carriage with white
horses, silver Beauford and a
Daimler.
RECEPTION: Pimms
reception at North Lakes Hotel
for a three-course-meal for 100
guests with a further 100 guests
in the evening for a buffet.
TABLE SETTINGS: The
tables were named after
various bars on Botchergate,
Carlisle with the top
table being Walkabout.
FAVOURS: Pink heart-
shaped biscuits for the ladies
and tractor-shaped biscuits for
the men which doubled as
name cards.
CAKE: Individual iced
sponge cakes.
FIRST DANCE: All I Want Is
You by U2.
HONEYMOON: Dubai and
Koh Samui in Thailand.

HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Stirling in
August 2000.
PROPOSAL: In Edinburgh, 2007.
VENUE: Holy Trinity Church, Chapel Stile,
near Ambleside.
THEME: Black and ivory.
BRIDE'S OUTFIT: An ivory halter-neck fish-
tail dress by Romantica. Swarovski crystals tiara
designed and made by the chief bridesmaid.
GROOMSMEN: The groom's uncle, Brian
Morton was best man. The bride's cousin Stuart
Kirkwood, 34, and David Ross, 25, were ushers.
The groom wore his family's Douglas dark
modern Argyle kilt, Brian wore a granite City
Argyle kilt. The ushers wore black and grey suits.
BRIDESMAIDS: Kelly Ferguson, 27, was chief
bridesmaid. The groom's sister Laura
Williamson, 15, was a bridesmaid. They wore
black dresses in a style of their choice. The bride
and groom's daughter Elle Morton and the bride's
niece Rosie Ward both six were flowergirls.
FLOWERS: For the bride a hand-tied bouquet
of ivory peonies with rosemary from the bride's
parents' garden, the bridesmaids had smaller
versions. The flowergirls had a single ivory peony.
TRANSPORT: A black and cream Daimler.
RECEPTION: Pimms reception at Langdale
Hotel and Country Club for 80 guests entertained
by a magician.
TABLE SETTINGS: Large martini glasses
filled with ivory peonies, crystals and black
feathers. Wedding trivia questions on the tables.
FAVOURS: Miniature bottles of alcohol in black
organza bags.
CAKE: A four-tier fruit, madeira and chocolate
square cake was made by friend Marilyn Rooney.
FIRST DANCE: Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
ENTERTAINMENT: A casino night provided
by Maryport Lions.
HONEYMOON: Marsa Alam, Egypt.
