The VW

AS a premier Motability specialist
Smith Knight Fay Volkswagen prides
itself on offering a hassle-free
motoring experience for Motability
customers.
The retailer will be showcasing its
expertise during a four day a
Motability event at its showroom
starting today.
The retailer's four Motability
specialists offer expert advice on the
scheme which enables drivers with a
disability to use their government-
funded mobility allowance to obtain a
brand new car every three years.
Depending on a customer's needs,
including budget, the Motability team
provide expert advice on choosing
the right car. Motability customers can
expect to drive a brand-new car for
less than 49.10 a week.
Barry Morrison, Smith Knight Fay's
brand manager, is looking forward to
the event.
He said: "Motability greatly increases
quality of life for disabled people and
provides them with the freedom of
having their own car without any
hassle or cost associated with it.
"Customers will be given clear advice
on their eligibility for the scheme, how
to apply, as well as details of the full
range of Volkswagen vehicles
available.
"It is important we have a team of
expertly trained staff who can advise
customers on Motability. We find most
people with disabilities know about
the scheme but do not necessarily
know how it works or what cars would
best suit them.
"The team can also advise on what
adjustments could be made to the car
to make driving as easy as possible."
The Motability scheme is available to
anyone who receives the `higher rate
mobility component' of the Disability
Living Allowance or the War
Pensioners' Mobility Supplement.
It includes insurance, personal
accident cover, after sales servicing
and maintenance, full breakdown
assistance from the RAC, an
allowance of 60,000 miles over the
three years, and free tyre
replacement.
The Smith Knight Fay team has
ensured its purpose-built showroom is
suitably equipped for Motability
customers, offering designated
disabled toilets, spacious hospitality
lounge areas and easy viewing of the
workshop ensuring customers receive
a trouble-free motoring experience.
Barry added: "We have a long history
of working with the Motability car
scheme and feel confident that we
can provide the best advice and
service for people in the area who are
thinking about applying for a car
through the scheme.
"It couldn't be easier to do and we
hope the recent offer on the Polo
model is a welcome initiative given
the difficulties people are facing in the
current financial climate.
"I'd encourage anyone who is
considering joining to come down to
our showrooms during this event to
discuss their own mobility and new
car requirements with one of our
specialists." Smith Knight Fay's
Motability event runs until Sunday.
Customers will be able to view the
range of Volkswagen cars available
through the programme and arrange
test drives on preferred vehicles.
Refreshments will be provided to
ensure everyone in need of a pit-stop
is fully-fuelled.
