year, the Saturdays' debut album,
Chasing Lights, has already gone
platinum and spawned four top
ten singles, including Up and
Issues.
Their last offering, Just Can't
Get Enough, a cover of Basildon
band Depeche Mode's 1981 hit,
and one of this year's official
Comic Relief singles, made it to
number two in the UK chart.
A prestigious slot touring with
Girls Aloud and praise from the
likes of Lily Allen and former
Spice Girl Emma Bunton, has
further secured their position as
the darlings of the catchy pop
tune.
"It's been an amazing year,"
says Frankie, who with fellow
bandmate Rochelle Wiseman, was a
former member of S Club Juniors.
"We started off without anyone
really knowing who we were.
"To have our own headline tour is
a really big deal for us."
The girls are embarked on a
16-date UK tour last month, which
will also see them play London's
Hammersmith Apollo, as well as
dates in Essex.
"We're really excited about the
shows, but I think we're going to be
getting nervous nearer the time,"
admits Frankie, from Upminister.
"Southend is close to home so I'm
expecting a lot of my friends and
family to be there, and that will be
really nerve-racking."
