Reenie Barn is a family owned farm by Mark
Moffat Reed, Mum Mary Reed and Marks son
Mark. They have 126 acres and a herd of 65
Dairy cows plus followers, Limousins are kept
through to Stirk age.
Mark replaced a loader tractor with the Kram-
er 850 model, after talking with Paul Scandle
of Rickerby's at the Spring show.
"Paul recommended the Kramer 850 as the
solution to my needs, and his advice and help
have been very good, and all the staff at Rick-
erby's plus their back up have been second to
none, Mark continues.
"It works in thirty year old buildings with low
accessibility and is extremely maneuverable
for a modern machine, says Mark. The Kramer
is the main machine on the farm and works
24/7 . It feeds, cleans, loads muck spreaders
effortlessly, off loads wagons with straw and
is very simple to drive, Mum and my girlfriend
use it also. I think that the performance from
it is outstanding and it is a very well made
machine, says Mark.

KRAMER COMPACT WHEELED LOADER CHOSEN FOR
ITS ABILITY TO WORK IN VERY CONFINED SPACES
The first Kramer 350 mini loader to be delivered in
northern England is proving to be a wise purchase for
Cumbrian dairy farm Stainburn Hall near Workington,
owned and run by John Farries together with his two
sisters, Sheena and Jill.
Prior to the arrival of the Kramer machine the
family had been using a pedestrian controlled straw
chopper for bedding the animals but it was not only very
hard work to push along but also past its sell-by date. In
fact the only plus point was its ability to reach difficult to
access areas and so its demise posed quite a problem
when it came to finding a suitable, efficient alternative.
However, local Kramer dealer Rickerbys of
Carlise was able to come to the rescue with the recently
introduced 350 model which has proved ideal for han-
dling a new straw chopper attachment in the confines
of the various farm buildings as well as negotiating an
automatic floor scraper system with ease.
In addition to its straw chopping duties, the
new Kramer machine is also used for many other jobs
around the farm using a variety of attachments but with
a particular emphasis towards maximising the machines
outstanding manoeuvrability, made possible by its 4-
wheel drive and steer systems. For maximum versatility
the family has had a special adapter plate manufactured
to ensure that most of the attachments are interchange-
able between the Kramer and an existing tractor.
Sheena and Jill were keen to point out how easy the 350 is to operate with its excellent all-round
visibility giving them lots of confidence when working in tight and often dark areas. In fact, even Mrs. Farries
senior, who is in her 70's, has been known to take the machine for a spin!
The 350 miniloader is powered by a Yanmar 3-cylinder diesel engine developing 23 kW (31 hp) and
weighs in at 1720 kg when fitted with the full cab option chosen by the Farries'. The machine has an overall
width of just 1200 mm and can handle up to 1000 kg with a maximum dump height of 2.5m.

Hoddomtown Farm is family owned and
farmed by David Bell, his Dad John and Un-
cle Norman, they have a 400 strong herd of
fattening cattle, fatten about 1,000 lambs and
have 100 ewes. 200 acres are sown down to
barley and they make 1,500 bales of silage
each year.
David had a Kramer handler for many years
and decided to change it for a new Kramer
750t which was the nearest to his older
model.
"I like the Kramer because it is strong and
reliable and for our farm it has the added
bonus of being quite narrow in its design,
which is perfect for accessing some of our
sheds. It is a very agile machine to operate,
with good visibility and has many uses on the
farm including loading and unloading wag-
ons, feeding the cattle, mucking out, moving
bales etc.

"Awesome," is how Michael Hutchinson, describes his Kramer 580T, It has more manoeuvrability than I
thought possible, he says. When I am loading wagons with grain I am in and out of sheds turning constantly,
the joystick controls make it easy too. I replaced an aged loader with the Kramer 580t after a demonstration
by Rickerbys. I like the seating position in the middle, when you are working in sheds with cattle it is
important to not have any blind spots. I use the Kramer to load grain, muck out sheds, lift bales and many
other jobs around the farm, it has been a very good investment. It does what they say it will. said Michael.
