Glenn Tilbrook, Mike Peters and Nick Harper recently
climbed the legendary Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain
to raise funds for the Love Hope Strength Foundation, a
charity that combines music, travelling and trekking to raise
money and provide support and resources for people affected
by cancer. Founded by James Chippendale along with Mike
Peters of The Alarm, LHS has harnessed the power of music
and the love, hope and strength of volunteers throughout
the world to make a tangible difference in the fight against
cancer. LHS have already conquered Mt. Everest where
they staged a gig near the summit and staged successful
musical treks to Machu Picchu, Peru. As with Everest Rocks,
where LHS supporters bought Nepal its first mammography
and internal radiation machines, and Peru Rocks, where funds
raised lead to a mobile cancer care unit, LHS is dedicated to
finding a practical and tangible use for monies raised that
will help East Africans. LHS help raise money to purchase
life saving equipment, spread awareness, promote early
detection, and register people to the international bone
marrow database. The trekkers' daily journal can be viewed at
the foundation's website www.lovehopestrength.org PM

Taylor guitars has announced a special
35th anniversary edition guitar that offers
players unprecedented comfort courtesy of a
specially sculpted armrest built into the guitar.
The XXXV-GS is affectionately dubbed the
`Armrest Series' by Taylor and incorporates
Taylor's popular Grand Symphony body styling
along with the unique armrest, which is located
on the bass side of the guitar's lower bout and
offers a softer contour for the playing arm by
replacing the hard edge where the guitar's top
and sides usually meet.
Taylor President and co-founder of the
company Bob Taylor explains the thinking
behind the unique feature, "With the armrest,
the woodworking is complicated, but as part of
our anniversary, we wanted to offer players a
guitar with the coolest, most complex binding
treatment you can get on an acoustic."
Further guitars in the Taylor range will receive
the 35th anniversary treatment. See your local
Taylor dealer for details or log on to:
