come to the rescue
of local women
drivers by
launching a free
Women in the
Driving Seat
evening.
The event, held
recently at the Lincoln showroom, provided practical
instruction on personal awareness and self-protection,
basic car maintenance and self-help, to help reduce
the risks women face when driving, including dealing
with road rage in other drivers. In a recent RAC
survey, 87% of drivers said that they had been a road
rage victim at least once, while 20% claimed to have
experienced it more than ten times.
Darren Wood of Charles Warner says, 8220Personal safety
and security are important for everyone, particularly
women today. The menace of aggressive, inconsiderate
driving on our roads seems to be increasing and we
believe all it takes is a little case and consideration.
8220We went women to enjoy their independence and
freedom and be able to travel safely and confidently
on our roads.8221Councillors, business leaders and developers celebrated the
completion of a new 1634 million-plus commercial development at
Sleaford which will create between 200 and 300 new jobs.
The Point, is a high-quality office park located just off the A17 on
the Sleaford Enterprise Park and about one mile to the North East of
the town centre, and is already home to several new enterprises.
Hodgson Elkington, the Lincoln chartered surveyors who are joint
agents with Humberts are responsible for marketing the 33,000 sq ft
development and recently completed the sale of a large 10,000 sq ft
building to Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust. Hodgson Elkington
partner Daniel Race, commented, 8220With the final phase of
development completed we are delighted to have sold the majority of
the fifteen units. We also have terms agreed for the sale of another

Jessops Parliamentary Photographic Competition. His photo, of the funfair
at Cleethorpes, was selected as one of the best from six hundred entries
submitted by over eighty members of the Commons and the Lords.
The judging panel was chaired by Lincoln photographer Mike Maloney
OBE, who says, 8220This competition is currently going from strength to
strength. This year saw a record entry, with some of the highest
professional standards seen in the past years.8221
Each winning entry receives 163100 to be donated to CLIC Sargent,
Jessops8217 adopted charity, which provides care and financial support for
children and their families living with cancer and leukaemia. In addition,
the public can vote for their favourite photo from the winners at
www.jessops.com/parliament, which will receive a further donation to
