Observer March 13, 2008 9PUPILS at
Manuden Primary
School enjoyed an
art class with a
difference when
artist Karen Adams
held a workshop.
Karen, who lived in
the village for more
than 20 years
before moving to
Thorley, returned to
her old school to
teach a dozen
pupils unusual
painting
techniques, such
as sponging and
rag-rolling.
Each child was
given a special
paintbrush to take
home with them.
Karen said: 8220We
had an absolutely
smashing morning
8211 the children really
came out of
themselves.8221PUPILS at St Mary8217s Primary in
Hatfield Broad Oak sampled food
and drink from around the world
during a multicultural awareness
week.
Head teacher Lyn Stephenson
said: 8220The idea was to make the
children aware of how their lives
already include many items from
other cultures.8221
