94 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAYDINING OUTThe Windmill is owned by
Sharon and Chris Noble who
have a wealth of experience.
They have brought all their skills and
knowledge of running a successful
restaurant to the Windmill and, just
nine months after taking over, they
have been named Best Restaurant in
the Tastes of Lincolnshire awards.
The key to the Windmill8217s success is
its relaxed atmosphere. It was clear
when we visited the restaurant that
much time and effort has been spent
in creating a pleasant ambience. We
visited during the day and were
impressed by the amount of natural
light that created a bright and airy
setting, but the lush furnishings and
rich colour scheme clearly makes it a
hugely attractive place for an evening
meal as well.
Sharon and Chris pride themselves
on using fresh local produce,
including their own fresh chips. They
make use of many top Lincolnshire
suppliers, including Dennetts, Igloo
Seafoods, Holmes Butchers of Burgh
and Atlas Wines, so you know you8217re
supporting local companies. In
addition, the dessert menu consists of
homemade treats which change daily,
including peach and amaretto trifle,
coffee cr232me brulee and many more.
We were able to enjoy Sunday lunch
at the Windmill, and I selected the
Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding 8211
one of two roasts always on offer.
However the restaurant is also
particularly proud of its Oriental
selection, and so my companion opted
for the Sweet Chilli Beef Stir Fry with
Sesame Noodles. The two very
different dishes both reached the
highest standards. The Sunday lunch
menu offers wonderful value, with
three courses for just 16312.95.
The menu for the rest of the week is
also wide-ranging. The specials change
on a daily basis, and have recently
included Steak and Ale Pie, Poaches
Seabass Fillets cooked in Thai Flavoured
Coconut Milk and Lamb Noisettes with
a Red Wine and Rosemary Jus.
It8217s clear that, with its fantastic
service and wonderful high quality
food, the Windmill restaurant
certainly lives up to its idyllic setting. The Windmill Restaurant is in
