fishing docks were established,
Eighteen57 serves up a host of
delicious, locally sourced ingredients.
Lincolnshire Today recently enjoyed a
meal at this prestigious establishment.
We were shown to our seat and
immediately the tranquil surroundings
set the scene for what we anticipated
to be a beautiful meal. Every last detail
has been carefully considered to
enhance the dining experience. An
aquatic theme is retained through
nautical artwork giving Eighteen57 a
unique identity.
Compliments of the chef, we were
treated to a crab and noodle broth
introducing the flavours of the sea
with a sharp tang, served with a
choice of six delicious breads and
salsa.
I chose the Warm Plum Tomato and
Mozzarella Tart with Onion
Marmalade, Red Chard, Rocket and
Pesto Dressing while my partner opted
for the Scottish Hot Smoked Salmon
with Lemon Dressing, Capers and
Shallots.
My tart was deliciously tangy and
fruity, the plum tomatoes burst in my
mouth with a great complementing
texture. My partner commented on
how his salmon melted to the taste,
perfectly cooked and presented.
For the main meal I chose line
caught Brixham Sea Bass with Mussel,
Crab and Scampi Risotto while my
partner chose an 8oz Abbey Farm
Lincolnshire Beef Fillet served with
Icelandic King Prawns, Celeriac, Potato
Rosti, Baby Vegetables and a Tomato
B233arnaise sauce. My risotto was perfect,
not overpowering with such interesting
ingredients, and the Sea Bass was the
best I have tasted. My partner
commented on how the prawns added
a nice texture in contrast to his
amazing steak, the potato rosti also
presented a welcomed salty savour.
We were then treated to a mouth-
watering Raspberry Granita Frappe to
clear the palate. Tempted to a dessert
we shared a Fresh Fruit Platter with
warm Milk and White Chocolate, a
delectable combination of
strawberries, grapes, blackberries,
melons, oranges and apples with an
indulgent warm chocolate sauce.
As the night continued, more people
entered the restaurant. For an
establishment that has been open just
a few weeks it is clear to see that
Eighteen57 has amassed a fantastic
reputation for fine dining. One waiter
explained 8220It8217s nice to be a part of
something like this.8221 What is evident
from the customers is that Eighteen57
is quite simply exquisite.
Eighteen57 is open Tuesday to
