Stallingborough Grange92 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAYDINING OUTStallingborough Grange has long
since been a familiar destination
for visitors from across
Lincolnshire and further afield. Its
position just outside Grimsby makes it
near enough to the town to be
convenient but far enough away to be
a delightful retreat. Indeed, the
picturesque thatched country house is
set in its own beautiful gardens.
It8217s not surprising, then, that many
couples decide on Stallingborough
Grange as the venue to get married.
Special events like these are based
around the Hotel8217s Buttercross Suite, a
delightful setting for any occasion,
and they have a specialised events
team that has plenty of experience in
putting together the perfect package.
No matter what the occasion,
though, it8217s certainly worth paying a
visit to Stallingborough Grange8217s
wonderful restaurant. This traditional,
elegant room is suitable for everything
from private dining for large parties to
an intimate meal for two. Indeed, if
you8217re thinking of the latter, there8217s
the chance to take advantage of the
Couples Night on Friday evenings,
with a special menu offering three
courses for just 16315. There8217s also a
hugely popular carvery.
The menu at Stallingborough Grange
is an excellent mix of the best in British
cuisine and inspiration from further
afield. Diners can choose from a range
of traditional favourites, including
quality fish, steak and vegetarian
options, or can make their selections
from the array of signature dishes which
emphasise the highest of standards.
We opted for some of the signature
dishes while we were fortunate
enough to enjoy a meal at the
restaurant. I went for the honey
roasted breast of Gressingham duck,
which not only lived up the highest
expectations 8211 it was tender and
melted in the mouth 8211 but also
emphasises the Hotel8217s determination
to use local produce wherever possible.
My companion also enjoyed their
choice of dish, herd roasted noisettes
of lamb, which were presented
beautifully.
There8217s much else to enjoy from the
menu, and this is supplemented with
chef8217s specialities which change on a
regular basis. Of course, the meal is
bookended by equally delicious
starters and desserts. For our desserts,
we selected the chocolate mousse dup
and the lemon meringue 8211 both of
which put the top hat on an excellent
meal.
Stallingborough Grange has always
delivered a warm welcome and
comfortable atmosphere, and we were
thrilled to find out that this remains
the case today.
