Wisbech, Terrington St Clement has
grown accordingly over the years 8212 both
in terms ofpopulation and in shops and
facilities to serve a thriving community.
There are the obvious benefits ofrural
living, with the peace and quiet that
comes from being in the countryside, as
well as the advantages ofbeing part of
what is rather more than the average
Norfolk village.
For you will find everything you need
on your doorstep in Terrington St
Clement. With the variety ofshops and
services in and around the busy villagePLANS for a summer fair at St
Clement8217s High School are being
made following the success of last
year8217s event.
Around 3,000 people attended
the event, and the committee of
representatives from community
groups and local residents hopes
for an even bigger and more fun-
packed day this year.
So far, the committee is
arranging a full day of live music,
fun fair, classic and novelty cars
and bikes, football tournament, dog
show, craft stalls, car boot and
various demonstrations and
performances throughout the day,
on Sunday, July 15.

The committee needs help and
support from local groups, clubs,
organisations and businesses.
The event could not have taken
place last year without generous
donations and time.
Once again, an appeal goes out
to local businesses to sponsor the
day or a particular event. Anyone
interested in being a steward for
the day should also get in touch.THERE are plenty ofsigns that
Terrington St Clement is both thriving
and growing.
Work on the village8217s new medical
centre could begin in May after health
chiefs approved the scheme in December.
And there is plenty happening at both
the village8217s schools.
The primary school in Churchgateway
has applied for permission to build two
new classrooms to replace two mobiles
currently in use. The single storey
extension will house up to 60 Year Six
pupils and the plans also include a lobby
area and wheelchair-accessible toilet.
Work was due to start in January.
And over the road, improvements were
being made at St Clement8217s High School
where a 163895,000 programme to build a
new humanities block was well under
way. Work began last July and should be
finished by the spring.
The village could also get a skateboard
facility. A meeting was held between
parish councillors, other parishioners and
young people to look at the possible
provision ofrecreation and social
facilities, and especially a skateboard
facility.
The parish council has agreed to

shoppers to look further afield.
And not every village today has
the extras that keep life ticking over,
such as doctors8217 surgeries, schools
and a couple ofpubs 8212 but
Terrington has.
Then there are the local village
organisations, many having been in
existence for a long time and
providing an ideal way to get further
involved in the local community.
Little wonder that new homes are
continually being added in and
around the village.
And there8217s history too. The
magnificent parish church, known as
the cathedral ofthe Marshland, was
built in the 14th century by Edmund
Gonville, Rector ofTerrington, who
founded Gonville College at
