The new XC60,
available from October,
steps into the motoring
world8217s fastest-growing
segment,and offers a car
with sports coupe
styling,cross country
ability,and maximum
safety.
The 8216small premium utility8217 segment is growing
quickly.Within the next few years,buyers will have
at least ten crossover models to choose from.
The XC60 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor
Show in March and has already won a UK
technology award for its innovative City Safety
system,an autobrake collision avoidance system
which is standard.

itself.
Starting at just under
16325,000,the XC60 will
be available in three trim
levels with three engine
options.All-wheel drive with instant traction

SUV has received several updates for 2009,including
a new lower CO2 figure,the introduction of the
sports-inspired R-DESIGN and new exterior
colours,alloy wheels and options giving buyers

Clarity 8211 Honda8217s advanced
hydrogen fuel cell car 8211 has come
off the line in Japan,marking the
beginning of a new era of cleaner
motoring.
Clarity 8211 which emits only water
from its exhaust pipe 8211 is initially
being produced for lease in the
US,and the first three of a
production run of 200 were
presented to customers last
month.
They will follow a three-year
lease term,at a price of 163290 a
month,including maintenance and
collision insurance.
At the heart of the FCX Clarity
is a fuel cell stack,which uses an
electrochemical reaction between
hydrogen and oxygen to convert
chemical energy into electrical
energy.
That powers a motor which
drives the car8217s wheels.Honda8217s
FC stack simultaneously generates
electricity and water,giving no
harmful emissions.
A new dedicated fuel cell vehicle
assembly line has been established
for the production of FCX Clarity,
which includes processes unique
to a fuel cell car,such as the
installation of the fuel cell stack
and hydrogen tank.
Next year,Honda8217s more
affordable hybrid car goes on sale
