THE
PULSE
SPRING
Where
are
you
from?
Edinbur
gh
born
and
bred.
As
a
child
the
family
moved
around
the
city
a
fair
bit,
moving
from
Ardmillan,
Upper
Gilmore
Place,
Morningside
and
up
to
Swan
Spring,
near
Buckstone.
I
lived
in
Marchmont
briefly
before
settling
in
the
Blackford
area
12
years
ago
.
Where
else
have
you
lived?
I
spent
a
couple
of
years
in
the
Borders
af
ter
I
lef
t
school.
I
joined
the
police
and
was
initially
stationed
in
Jedbur
gh
and
then
transferred
to
Eyemouth
before
finally
getting
a
move
back
home
to
Edinbur
gh.
Border
life
was
a
shock
to
me
as
an
18-year
-old
city
boy
,
but
I
now
look
back
on
my
time
there
very
fondly
.
When
did
you
move
to
your
most
recent
home
and
why?
Claire
and
I
bought
our
home
in
1995.
My
Mum
found
the
house
up
for
sale,
took
Claire
to
see
it
who
fell
in
love
with
it
and
that
was
that.
Blackford
suited
us
as
it8217s
a
beautiful
part
of
the
city
with
its
hill
and
pond
right
nearby
and
it8217s
very
close
to
where
we
both
grew
up.
Have
you
lived
anywhere
remotely
lik
e
Edinburgh?
No
.
I8217ve
work
ed
in
London
and
Glasgow
,
but
for
me
neither
comes
close
to
Edinbur
gh.
What

STOTT
you
have?
It
really
is
a
city
with
everything,
and
nothing
is
really
too
far
away
.
What
do
you
miss
most
about
the
city
when
you8217re
away?
Friends
and
family
.
My
Mum
and
Dad
still
live
here
and
I8217m
still
in
touch
with
most
of
my
good
mates
from
school
and
we
hook
up
regularly
.
What
is
the
largest
cultural
barrier
between
Glasgow
and
Edinburgh?
The
attitudes
we
have.
Glasgow
thinks
it8217s
better
than
Edinbur
gh,
whereas
Edinbur
gh
knows
it8217s
better
than
Glasgow
.
Most
annoying/amus
ing
Edinburgh
habit?
Edinbur
gh
folk
are
renowned
for
their
stand-offishn
ess
which
does
hack
me
off
at
times
as
I
do
think
we
let
ourselves
down
on
that
one
a
bit.
Where
do
you
head
for
food?
If
I8217m
going
posh
then
it
has
to
be
Rhubarb,
we
did
Christmas
Dinner
there
last
year
and
it
was
just
beautiful.
