The Role
In 2007 Lincoln launched a new innovative range of retirement products to build on
its protection and investment products. Lincoln will continue to create solutions which
meet the needs of the consumer and the adviser in its specific target market. It is for
this reason and its commitment to growth strategies and new distribution that Lincoln
is recruiting for the following position.
A nearly / newly qualified Actuary is needed to support the Chief Development
Actuary and contribute to the overall performance of the Actuarial Department
by developing, implementing and maintaining Lincoln's new and existing range of
products. The wide (and expanding) range of products includes the innovative unit
linked Lincoln i2Live Retirement Investment Plans, plus Protection Plans and Unit
Linked and Guaranteed Bonds.
You will be involved in significant cross-functional work with Lincoln's internal
departments, including Lincoln's parent in the US, as well as extensive involvement with
external partners, in particular Capita, Lincoln's main service provider.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a good knowledge of
product pricing techniques and awareness of the pricing implications of different risks.

Superval expertise
Qualified or part-qualified actuary with several years
valuation experience who is willing to work on
valuation production at all levels (ie `doer', `checker'
and `scrutineer'). Candidates must have a strong
background in Excel and Superval, and be comfortable
working in a small team with potentially variable hours.
Excel and VBA expertise
Qualified or part-qualified actuary required to help

The Company
Acorn Life is a small dynamic company based in Galway in the
West of Ireland and has been in business for almost 20 years

The Role
As Finance Director and Actuary, you will be responsible for
everything to do with the financial operations of the Company.
These include the actuarial and accounting functions, compliance,
legal, investment and HR. You will be responsible for relationships
with auditors, reinsurers, investment managers, regulators and
others. As a key member of the Company's senior management
team, you will help develop the strategy which will ensure continued
success in an increasingly challenging environment. Remuneration
