Actuarial Analyst - Generalist

A great opportunity to work for a major UK-domiciled general
insurance and reinsurance group that writes both UK and
international business. The role will support the Actuarial team
and work closely with the Underwriters, senior management and
other internal departments. Key responsibilities include reserving,
pricing, capital modelling and business planning activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the
actuarial exams, collate data and perform research including
market statistics analysis. Educated to degree level or equivalent
and with an understanding of general insurance, you will
demonstrate good commercial acumen, have a consultative
approach and possess excellent IT skills (especially Excel). Your
strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work
autonomously will be well regarded.
Research & Planning Actuary

This is your chance to work for one of the UK's leading providers
of pensions, protection, investments and wealth management
services. Working in the Capital Management Division, your key
responsibilities include: coordinating the Life UK's economic
capital strategy, coordinating the US Home Office economic
capital work streams; issuing Solvency II Research and position
documents; dealing with best-estimate/experience analysis;
overseeing stress research/recommendations; and monitoring
and/or recommending best practice.
Managing all risks across the board including mortality, morbidity and
insurance risk, you'll analyse current market trends, keep key projects
up to date and be involved in researching and investigating.
The successful candidate will ideally come from a financial services,
life insurance or consultancy background, however other disciplines
including investment or pensions will be considered. A proven track
record within an actuarial environment is essential.
