Due to expansion, Skandia is offerin� 4 senior students
and 5 qualified actuaries the opportunity to build a
career in its Shared Services Division in Southampton.
Systems Development team: requires three nearly/newly qualified actuaries to join the Actuarial
Transformation Project as it migrates over 100 of Skandia's products onto MoSes and implements the
beginnings of an enterprise wide data warehouse. While actuarial modelling experience is beneficial, MoSes
training will be provided if required.
Group Projects team: there are five opportunities available in this newly formed team for both qualified
actuaries and nearly qualified students. This team will work closely with the CFO office and actuaries across
the Old Mutual Group to develop and implement solutions to industry wide challenges such as: MCEV,
Solvency II, IFRS, Quantitative Impact Studies and Economic Capital.
In addition, the Group Projects team has responsibility for user requirements, process design and report
specifications for the Actuarial Transformation Project.
UK Reporting team: requires a senior student to take a lead role in delivering statutory and embedded value
results, providing actuarial services to the Risk Actuary and monitoring and reporting on the with profits fund.
Successful candidates will have an opportunity to develop
an in-depth understanding of MoSes and contribute to
actuarial thought leadership by being exposed to a wide
variety of actuarial project work within a high calibre
actuarial department.
Skandia's actuarial staff may also take advantage of
Old Mutual's international secondment programme.
