EVERY two years, the Buntingford
Carnival committee gets together, puts
on its collective thinking cap and
comes up with a carnival day to be
enjoyed and of which the town of
Buntingford can be proud.With the theme of 8216Carnival Time Around
The World8217, this year8217s carnival promises to
feel the rhythm of the beat!
There is music from South America in the
form of Toque Tambor and Sambuka.
There is jazz from New Orleans, with the
Mardi Gras Jazz Band and Caribbean music
with the sound of Juma Steel Band.
Other entertainment includes Ali-Cardabra,
Gary Tickle, Lennie Nova, Mr Mop8217s Magic
Show and Cockney Spiv.
Buntingford Karate Club, Millfield, Layston
and Edwinstree schools are also taking
part, giving the day a local touch.
Displays by the Heritage Centre, Arts
Forum, Model Railway Group and Hessa8217s
Pets also show just how much Buntingford
has to offer residents and visitors alike.
However, it is not just the committee8217 hard
work which makes the carnival a success 8211
it is also the helpers on the day, the
businesses, organisations and individuals
who donate time and money. Without
them, there wouldn8217t be a carnival.
