instruments for a rock gig in the

Musical groups from Simon Balle
School in Mangrove Road will be
performing a concert of indie songs,
classical rock and metal at the
Marquee Club in Railway Street on
Wednesday.
The secondary8217s guitar and music
teacher, Will Thomas, who
organised the event, said: 8220The kids
all have very different tastes. It8217s
quite a mix.
8220They are all three- or four-piece
bands. Some of them do covers,
some of them do their own music.
Some of them are recording demos.8221
The Simon Balle Rock School
bands which are set to perform are
The Cex, Torched, Blind Faith, Point
Blank and Riff Raff.
The groups are made up of pupils
from all years in the school.
The doors will open at 7.30pm for
an 8pm start. Tickets cost 1633 on the

both Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22
to help keep the site secure and clean. In
exchange they will get a free weekend pass
to enjoy more than 50 bands and solo acts.
