The
Clarsach
Society
first
or
ganised
the
festival
in
1982
and
now
international
musicians
visit
to
play
and
hear
the
Scottish
and
Irish
harp
played
in
many
musical
traditions,
from
bluegrass
to
jazz.
The
festival
focuses
on
the
clarsach,
the
small
harp
that
has
been
played
throughout
the
Celtic
nations
for
centuries.
Listening
to
a
vir-
tuoso
play
any
instrument
is
lik
e
hearing
it
for
the
first
time.
Many
of
us
think
only
of
heavenly
refrains,
but
skilled
harp
players
can
punish
the
feet
with
dance
tunes.
Highlights
of
this
year8217s
festival
include
world-renowned
harpist
Isabelle
Moretti
teaming
up
with
the
Edinbur
gh
Quartet.
The
concert
on
Sunday

March,
includes
Ravel8217s
Introduction
and
Allegro
